Submission:
You will be asked to submit:
The video should be a maximum of 5 minutes long and saved in MP4 format. You will be asked to upload a link to the video which must be accessible on the internet from a browser, therefore, you need to upload your video to a suitable web server.
We recommend that you install the video on the web ensuring that people cannot easily find a link to it. Avoid putting spaces in the file name, web links with spaces can confuse.
If you don't have access to a web server, then set-up a Dropbox account (it is initially free) and install the video. You can then provide a private link to the video which can be submitted. Dropbox is known to deliver a video so that it's viewable. Public video platforms such as YouTube should not be used because the content is generally open to all and cannot be restricted easily.
Video format:
The video should be a maximum of 5 minutes long and submitted in MP4 format (maximum file size 100MB). Videos should describe a clinical case, technique or procedure, having a clinical relevance but NOT clinical trials or research studies. Videos may contain text and images (still and moving). A picture of the presenter must be included at the beginning and end of the video so the audience can visualize who they are. Audio in English MUST be included to explain the clinical case, technique or procedure.
Evaluation:
Submissions in this category will be critically appraised by the ESE Clinical Practice Committee and only those accepted will be invited to present. There will be a non-blind review with 2 possible outcomes: accepted or rejected.
PLEASE NOTE: THE CLINICAL VIDEOS WILL BE EVALUATED ONLY ONCE.
Presentation & Clinical Video Award Competition:
All accepted videos will be shown in a lecture hall and will be included in the Clinical Video Award competition to take place on Thursday, 4th September, Hall 5 from 16:30 to 17:10. The presenter will be informed when the showing will take place and it is recommended that the presenter attends the session in case there are questions from attendees, however, attendance is not essential.
Following each video presentation, questions will be invited from the audience. Attendees will be asked to vote on the best presentation and €1,000 will be awarded to the winner at the end of the session.
Frequently Asked Questions on Clinical Videos:
Question: May I submit more than one video to present?
Answer: Applicants may submit one video for presentation in this category. However, you may be a co-author on Abstracts in other sections.
Question: Can I submit a video on behalf of the presenter?
Answer: It is preferable that the presenting author is the submitting author as all information regarding the abstract will be sent to the submitting author. If you submit on behalf of someone else, you must identify the presenting author when submitting and must forward all the information onto the presenting author.
Question: When will I know if my submission has been accepted?
Answer: After the 1st May 2025.
Question: If my submission is not accepted can I present in another section?
Answer: Yes but the submission will need to be changed to a poster.
Question: When will I know what time I’m presenting?
Answer: Shortly after 1st May you will be notified of the time of your presentation.
Presentations will take place between 16.30 and 17.10 on Thursday 4th September 2025. Make sure you are available for the entire session.
Question: Can I change my presentation day?
Answer: No.
Question: Do I receive a discount on the registration for being a presenter?
Answer: No.
