Aleksandar Jakovljevic (born 1986) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathophysiology, Division of Oral Rehabilitation, School of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed international journals in the field of etiopathogenesis and epidemiology of apical periodontitis and received 440 citations with an H-index of 13. He is a member of the editorial and scientific boards of the International Endodontic Journal and the Journal of Endodontics.
He also acts as a reviewer of 50 international journals on the JCR list and as an external reviewer for the French Institute for Dental Research.
He has received several awards for his scientific work, including the awards of the Balkan Stomatological Society, and the Austrian and French Society of Endodontics. He received the prestigious awards of the European Endodontic Society – Young Investigators Research Grant in 2015 and 2019. In 2018, his paper entitled: “The Role of Varicella Zoster Virus in the Development of Periapical Pathoses and Root Resorption: A Systematic Review” has been selected by the American Association of Endodontists Continuing Education Committee for inclusion in Endo On Demand CE program. As a senior reviewer, he was a part of the S3 Clinical Guidelines ESE project.
