Dr. Matthias Widbiller is an accomplished dentist and researcher in conservative dentistry, specializing in dental pulp tissue engineering, bioactive materials, and dentin matrix proteins. He graduated from the University of Regensburg in 2013 and received his doctorate while working as a dentist and research assistant at the University Hospital Regensburg.
Dr. Widbiller completed post-doctoral training in the research laboratory of Dr. Kenneth M. Hargreaves and Dr. Anibal Diogenes at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 2017-2018. He leads the Centre for Dental Traumatology at the University Hospital Regensburg since 2016, and has been Head of the Research Department since 2021.
In 2019, Dr. Widbiller was habilitated at the Medical Faculty of the University of Regensburg. His clinical focus is on dental traumatology, vital pulp therapies, and endodontic regeneration. In 2023, he was appointed Professor of Endodontology by the University of Regensburg.
