Aleksandar Jakovljevic
Aleksandar Jakovljevic (born 1986) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathophysiology, Division of Oral Rehabilitation, School of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed international journals in the field of etiopathogenesis and epidemiology of apical periodontitis and received 440 citations with an H-index of 13. He is a member of the editorial and scientific boards of the International Endodontic Journal and the Journal of Endodontics. He also acts as a reviewer of 50 international journals on the JCR list and as an external reviewer for the French Institute for Dental Research. He has received several awards for his scientific work, including the awards of the Balkan Stomatological Society, and the Austrian and French Society of Endodontics. He received the prestigious awards of the European Endodontic Society – Young Investigators Research Grant in 2015 and 2019. In 2018, his paper entitled: “The Role of Varicella Zoster Virus in the Development of Periapical Pathoses and Root Resorption: A Systematic Review” has been selected by the American Association of Endodontists Continuing Education Committee for inclusion in Endo On Demand CE program. As a senior reviewer, he was a part of the S3 Clinical Guidelines ESE project.

Angus Walls
Angus Walls is Director of Edinburgh Dental Institute and a Restorative Dentist by training. For the last 30-years his research has focussed on the challenges that the dental profession face with an ageing and increasingly dentate population. He has over 100 publications as well as writing 3 textbooks and numerous chapters. He is a Past-President of the International Association for Dental research and was recognised as a Distinguished Scientist in the field of Geriatric Oral Research by IADR.

Annemarie Baaij
Annemarie Baaij is affiliated to the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), the Netherlands. She did her undergraduate training at ACTA between 2003 and 2008, and she has been affiliated to ACTA ever since. From 2011 till 2014 she did her postgraduate training in Endodontology, and currently she is a PhD candidate. Her research topic is undergraduate education in Endodontology. Besides doing research, she is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education, and she practices as an endodontist. Since 2019, she is a member of the ESE Education and Scholarship Committee, and since 2021 Vice Chair.

Antonis Chaniotis
Chaniotis Antonis graduated from the University of Athens Dental School, Greece (1998). In 2003 he completed the three-year postgraduate program in Endodontics at the University of Athens Dental School. Since 2003, he owns a limited to microscopic Endodontics private practice in Athens, Greece. For the last ten years, he served as a clinical instructor affiliated with the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the University of Athens, Athens Dental School, Endodontic department, Greece. In 2012 he was awarded the title of Clinical fellow teacher at the University of Warwick, Warwick dentistry UK. He lectures nationally and internationally, and he has published articles in local and international Journals. Ιn 2015 he introduced a novel technique for the management of highly curved root canals and in 2022 he was invited to publish a narrative review in International Endodontic Journal about the management of curved and calcified canals. This review is among the 5 most downloaded papers of the International Endodontic Journal. Asgeir Sigurdsson
Born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland. Received his DDS from University of Iceland. Graduated from University of North Carolina (UNC), with certificate in endodontics and Master of Science with emphasis on neurobiology and pain. Full time faculty at UNC from 1992 until 2004, served as the Graduate Program Director of Endodontics 1997 to 2004. From 2004 to 2012 he was in a private endodontic practice in Reykjavik, Iceland and London, UK. In 2012 he became the Chairman of the Department of Endodontics, NYU College of Dentistry and is a tenured Professor. Additionally, he is an adjunct Professor at UNC. In February 2019 he was appointed as the interim Chairman of Department of Periodontology and Implants and served in that capacity through August 2021. Dr. Sigurdsson is a past President of the International Association for Dental Traumatology and in 2014 he was appointed by AAE as a Director of the American Board of Endodontics. He served as the President of the Board 2019-2020. He serves on the editorial board of Dental Traumatologia, and has served as associate editor of ACTA Odontologica Scandinavica as well as having served on the editorial boards of International Endodontic Journal and OOOOE. Dr. Sigurdsson has been invited numerous times to lecture in 47 countries all over the World, on the topics of pain, endodontics, dental trauma and/or forensic sciences. He has written or co-written 87 per-reviewed articles and 24 textbook chapters on same topics.

Ashraf ElAyouti
Ashraf ElAyouti received Bachelor degree in dentistry and doctor of dental surgery in 1988, Alexandria University. After serving 2 years in the Marine as a dental surgeon and another 5 years at the University of Hamburg, he received his doctoral degree, Dr. med. dent., in 1998. Subsequently he worked at the department of Conservative Dentistry, Division of Endodontology, Tübingen University. Since January 2005, head of Endodontology (prov.) and senior lecturer and supervisor of doctoral and research programs in Endodontology and associate Professor. His main research interests are physical properties of dentin and 3-D Dental Imaging.

Athina Christina Georgiou
Dr. Athina Christina Georgiou is postgraduate student in endodontics at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), clinical lecturer and researcher. She completed her dental education in 2014 at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and her PhD in September 2022 at the University of Amsterdam. For her PhD project she received several international awards including the annual research award (2019) by ESE and the global Hatton award (2022) by IADR, representing the European Division. Her research interests lie in endodontic microbiology and immunology.

Casper Kruse
Casper Kruse obtained his dental degree from Aarhus University in 2005 and defended his PhD-thesis in 2018. Currently he holds a post-doctoral position at Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, Aarhus University in Denmark. His research has been focused on the efficacy and accuracy of CBCT used for endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, and on the application of educational videos in teaching of pre-graduate dental students. Casper Kruse has been involved in both theoretic and clinical teaching in endodontics in both pre-graduate and in post-graduate courses. Recently he has been appointed leader of the Section of Oral Health in Rare Diseases, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. Casper Kruse is a Certified Member of ESE and vice-chair of the ESE Education and Scholarship Committee.

Craig Hirschberg
Craig S. Hirschberg, D.D.S., currently serves as President of the American Association of Endodontists and has served on the AAE Executive Committee since 2019. He previously served on the AAE Board of Directors from 2013 – 2016. Dr. Hirschberg is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his BS from the University of Cincinnati in 1975, his DDS from New York University College of Dentistry in 1980 and his certificate of specialty training in endodontics from New Jersey Dental School/UMDNJ (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in Newark, NJ in 1983. Dr. Hirschberg was in private practice, limited to endodontics, initially in New York City and for many years in Chatham, NJ. Dr. Hirschberg joined the faculty of the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in 2001. He has been Chair of the Department of Endodontics since 2013, where he also served as the Director of the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics through 2018. Dr. Hirschberg has been a Trustee of the Foundation for Endodontics since 2017. He has chaired and/or served on numerous standing and special committees for both AAE and the Foundation for Endodontics. Outside of organized endodontics, Dr. Hirschberg serves as an endodontic site visitor and consultant for the Commission on Dental Accreditation and is a member of the Dental Admissions Testing Committee of the American Dental Association. He is involved with test construction for the Advanced Dental Admissions Test, the Integrated National Dental Board Examination, and the Dental Licensure Objective Structured Clinical Examination (DLOSCE). He served many years on the Legislative Advisory Committee and chaired the Council of Advanced Education Programs for the American Dental Education Association. Dr. Hirschberg is Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and a Fellow of both the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.

Elisabetta Cotti, DDS, MS, received her DDS from the University of Cagliari – Italy and the specialty and MS in Endodontics from the University of Loma Linda- California. She is Full Professor of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and the Chairman of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at the School of Dentistry, University of Cagliari- Italy. She is currently the Director of the Post Graduate programme (Master) in Clinical Endodontics at the University of Cagliari, lecturer in the Department of Endodontics at Loma Linda University, USA. Elisabetta Cotti is currently the president elect of IFEA (International federation of Endodontic Associations). She practices limited to Endodontics, and is author of several articles and chapters in the field of Endodontics with has a specific interest in apical periodontitis, imaging and trauma.
